Prayer for improvement
A prayer walk for Springs was held this past weekend by various churches in and around town.
The walk was organised in aid of the revival of Springs. Members of the churches, and the community, united to pray for the town to be released from crime, drugs and prostitution.
Starting at the Selcourt water tower, the group of about 100 community members sang a few songs and said prayers, before starting the journey down Nigel Road to the Duck Pond. Parents brought their children with them and even grandparents joined.
Stopping along the way at the Park Hotel, the group prayed for the closing down of brothels and that prostitution comes to an end in their town.
DA councillor, Dean Stone, joined the walk as well and spoke to the community when they all arrived at the Duck Pond.
“Today there has been a great turnout and we need to turn Springs around. Please pray for our town, especially for PAM Brink Stadium which has fallen into ruins,” he said. “We are grateful the Duck Pond is improving, but more needs to be done to bring Springs back to its former glory”.
