The Gauteng Department of Social Development social auxiliary worker, Philile Fakude, has shared several public notices in terms of Regulation 56 of the Children’s Act 38 of 2005, appealing for biological parents or anyone with information about the parents of a number of children to come forward.

The notices form part of ongoing efforts to trace biological parents before foster care placements and other child protection processes can be finalised.

According to Fakude, the department seeks information regarding the whereabouts of the biological parents of several children, including Laila Kuo, Baby Ntombi Botha and Moshe Isaac, whose biological parents are listed as unknown.

Additional notices also seek to trace the biological father of Ntsikelelo Xolisa Shandu and Zolani Brilliant Shandu, whose mother, Sumangele Jumaima Shandu, died in 2014.

The department is also searching for the biological parents or relatives of Puleng Moagi, Sepati Moagi, Simile Zwane, Siphelele Patricia Chokoe and Micke Botha as part of foster care placement proceedings.

Residents who may have information about the children’s biological parents or their whereabouts are urged to contact the relevant social workers at the Department of Social Development Springs.
