East Rand celebrates wood

The East Rand Woodworkers’ Association (ERWA) will hold its 10th annual woodworking fair on September 21.

This year’s fair will focus on training facilities and practical demonstrations.

Outdoors, several well-known suppliers will exhibit and demonstrate the latest woodworking equipment, accessories and materials and ERWA members (including junior members) will give hands-on demonstrations of techniques such as carving, scroll sawing, turning and routing.

In the hall, wooden furniture, clocks, toys, carving, musical instruments, ornaments and other items made by ERWA members and invited guests will be on show.

Members are all proud of their work and are ready to share their knowledge.

A range of wooden items will be on sale. This is a good opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping.

A credit card facility will be available.

The fair will be held at the Northfield Methodist Church, Northmead, (corner Aerodrome Avenue and Webb Street), Benoni from 9am to 2pm on September 21.

Entrance is free. Contact Georg Stroebel (082-497-5065) or Denis Lock (011-616-6576) for further information.
