According to Captain Jakes Jacobs of the Delmas Police Station, the robbers entered the store at around midday.
“Someone notified the police who were fortunately in the area,” he says.
Police confronted two of the suspects, who were both armed, outside the store.
“The police shot one of them in the leg and arrested him. The other one ran, but the police caught up with him and he was also arrested,” says Capt Jacobs.
The remaining three robbers managed to get away.
The only injury in the robbery was that of the suspect who was arrested. He was transported to hospital and both suspects will appear in court soon.
