House in a mess
A partially build house on the corner of Second Avenue and Sixth Street, Geduld have neighbours in both streets up in arms.
According to the residents, vagrants live in the house and they feel it is not safe chidlren in the area.
Metro spokesman Sam Modiba says an inspection has revealed that the building work has been ceased for a period of two months because the last inspection, conducted on the house in question was on September 3.
“In terms of Section 11 of National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act No 103 as amended, we can only serve a notice to the owner to resume and complete the building if the building work has ceased for the period longer than three months,” adds Modiba
Another concern for residents is the building rubble, which does not do justice to the area.
Modiba says they will request the owner to remove the building rubble and to barricade the property to make it safe.
