The car was parked at Geronimos around 9pm, last Wednesday.
Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says the owner noticed his car was missing.
Henry Harber, owner of Geronimos jumped into his car with Werner Griessel, owner of the car, and drove around to see if they could perhaps find the car.
“We were driving on Paul Kruger Highway towards Kingsway when we noticed the car going in the opposite direction towards Springs,” says Harber.
Capt Ramphora adds they turned around and chased after the car.
The chase continued into Prince George Avenue, Brakpan where the hijacker turned right towards Reedville.
“The car started spinning and when it came to a standstill, the occupants jumped out of the vehicle,” says Capt Ramphora.
The three hijackers fled the scene, but a policeman saw one of them who jumped up from his hiding place, to run away.
He was caught and arrested by police.
According to Harber, the vehicle has been damaged.
