A multi-talented child
Samantha Bhoola is a Grade 7 student who had a wide array of talents.
She was named the dux (girl) of Selcourt Primary School for 2013 and has acheived the remarkable feat of obtaining distinctions from Grade 5 to Grade 7 as well as getting top student of her class in Grade 7.
Not only is she an exceptional student, but she dabbles in many different after-school activities. She represented the school in athletics and swimming and at the prizegiving, she also received the trophy for athletics on behalf of the winning house, Kudu, for 2013.
Not only is she clever and athletic but she also is artistic and fluent.
“She has been participating in Eisteddfods for a number of years. She is fully into the Performing Arts: Samantha takes speech and drama classes with CJ Cillie Drama School, classical ballet with Kelly-Ann De Marco from Selcourt for 11 years and has been doing all other styles of dance for the past five years,” says her mother, Jinx Bhoola.
Samantha dances with Nicole Smith from Nicole’s World of Dance and also takes singing lessons with Philicity Muller from ABC Studio and piano lessons with Marie de Jager.
This extremely active young girl participated in many Eisteddfods and dance competitions during 2013. At the Eisteddfods, she participated in dance, vocals, instrumentals and speech and drama.
“This year alone she won a Prestige Award for the Overall Junior Performer of the year for the Southern Gauteng area. She was also named the Overall Junior Dancer for South Gauteng and was the medal winner for dance,” says Jinx.
She participated in many dance competitions and won gold, silver and bronze medals and at the South African Championships Solo Latino dance competition as well as participating in the S.A. Championships Teams Dance with Nicole’s World of Dance where they were declared the winners for 2013.
Samantha is a full package of beauty, brains and talent. She wants to pursue a career in the Performing Arts as a performer initially and later on teaching the Performing Arts.
Next year she will attend Ashton College in Benoni where she received a scholarship.
