Striders holiday spirit
The Springs Striders held their annual charity run on Sunday where members ran through the streets of Springs adorned in their finest Christmas clothing.
The club chose to sponsor the Rotary Club of Springs.
“The Rotary Club is one of the oldest water stations at our Striders 32/15 km race,” says Jackie Seddon of the Striders.
On the sunny yet cool morning, the striders met at the Springs Rugby Club to the sounds of Christmas carols being played at the smell of breakfast cooking in the air.
Some of the more “out there” members wore Christmas hats and Santa suits to celebrate the festive season.
Each member who was running was asked to bring something for charity whether it be non-perishable food, blankets or toys which was handed over to the Springs Rotary Club after the run.
After a refreshing run around Springs, the Striders were welcomed back by a complementary Powerade sponsored by the Powerade company and a well deserved breakfast.
Jackie Seddon thanked the Striders for their hard work throughout the year and for the great donation for charity as well as thanking the Springs Rotary Club for their support throughout the years and for the work they do with charities in the Springs area.
