Metro’s work left undone

After the metro tarred the roads in Struisbult Extension One, their work was left incomplete.

According to a resident, Linda Landman, when the roads were tarred, the metro used water meters to get water for the tarring and ever since the meter boxes were opened on the corner of Fisant and Penguin streets, the water leaks through on a daily basis.

“More than one water leak was reported since November and luckily all of these were attended to on December 20, but they left without closing the holes again,” says Landman.

According to another resident he reported a water leak on a vacant stand next to his house in Gull Street more than a month ago, but to no avail.

A huge pothole was caused by the leaks on the corner of Gull and Heron streets.

The water leaks were still visible when an Addie reporter visited the site last Thursday.

Two days after the sewer leak was reported in December, for the second time, the metro worked on the problem which was caused by a blockage on the main sewer line in the area.

The metro did not respond to the questions sent to them in time for print.
