Teddies make children happy
Fluffy toys and Teddy bears have recently been handed over to victims of child abuse in Benoni.
The 1 100 toys and Teddy bears were kept in safe keeping by Casseys Autos Springs, after being collected at a toy run that was held recently.
Andries Ferreira from Mad Rage against Child Abuse says he works closely with Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) and the South African Specialised Unit to fight crime as far as the abuse of children is concerned.
He adds the children may choose a Teddy bear or soft toy of their own choice and that becomes their property.
Captain Kobus van Niekerk and Amanda van Wyk (FCS), Casseys Auto dealer principal Hennie Brits and South African Specialised Unit’s Captain Hilda Johns were present at the handover.
Andries says these people play a vital role in communities and make a huge difference in an abused child’s life.
