Esda receives donation
Mike and Joy Hale donated kitchen equipment to Esda Frail Care Centre in New State Areas last Wednesday.
According to Joy, it came to her attention that one of the residents’ dream is to have his own radio, and therefore they bought him one.
“The square stainless steel dishes, urn and large stainless steel pot will come in handy in the kitchen,” says Petro Burr-Dixon, Esda’s administrator.
Joy and Mike are passionate about Esda and say the donation is in honour of the late senior sister Rolene Barnad, who worked at Esda for years and died in 2012.
“The sweets will handed out to the residents as soon as possible,” says Petro.
“Esda is close to our hearts and the money raised at the Carols by Candlelight in December was put to use for this,” says Joy.
Petro adds they are very grateful for the donation, as the centre’s kitchen needs new equipment and appliances.
