Top honours for Springs Boys’ High student

Springs Boys' High School held its 74th honours evening on February 20 and matric student for 2013, Jody van Vuuren was a top achiever at the awards.

In total, Jody received 11 certificates, 11 medals and six trophies.

He received the following trophies:

  • The ABSA shield for the highest marks in the matric examinations for all subjects.
  •  The Doris and Frank Warminger Trophy for the Most Deserving Matriculant
  •  The Principal’s Trophy for maximum effective involvement and participation in the school.
  • The PFG Glass Trophy for the highest marks in The Academic Field of Study.
  •  The Impala Platinum Trophy for the highest marks in life science with distinction.
  •  The Louis Gordon Trophy for the highest marks in Afrikaans First Additional Language with distinction.

Jody also received a certificate of merit for outstanding marks in life orientation with distinction, the honours award, the LB Taurog Prize for bilingualism, and a cerificate of merit for outstanding marks in accounting with distinction.

He also received academic honours with full colours for outstanding academic achievements.

Jody will be continuing to university to study a Bcom in accounting science.
