Park is a mess
The Addie recently received a complaint from a facebook user in regard to the park on Oppenheimer Circle.
Glenda Hayward wrote:
“Well just look at Oppenheimer Circle, now used as a taxi rank, been complaining for three years on deaf ears.
“Totally overgrown, dumping ground, used as a local toilet, drug trafficking, haven for drunks and tramps.
Local Councilor and council not interested.”
Upon further investigation, it could be seen that the park is in a state of disarray.
Soiled nappies, disgarded shoes and broken bottles lay strewn all around the park.
While the grass has been cut recently, it would seem as if nothing has been done to clean up the park.
Many taxi drivers make use of the park, and since no comment has been received from comment on this matter, it is unclear as to whether or not they are allowed to park on the grounds.
If they are not allowed to park there, it is unclear what will be done to remove them and prevent them from parking in the park in future, or when the park will be cleaned up or what will be done to prevent this from happening in future.
