Easter bunny on the loose

The Easter Bunny visited Potters Haven

Children and senior citizens were spoiled with Easter eggs on Saturday.

Almost 3 200 Easter eggs were handed out throughout Springs by Springs Rotary Anns chairman Cheryl Havenga and her husband, Geoff.

These eggs were collected the previous Saturday during their Easter Egg Run.

Residents of Presidentia, Rus ‘n Bietjie, Thandabantu Community Centre, Poppie Huis, Molendam, Kwasa, Epilepsy South Africa in Daggafontein and Vita Nova all received eggs.

Geoff says nine Interactors from Springs Boys’ High School helped them in distributing the eggs.

“Eggs were also dropped off at Far East Rand Hospital, Pholosong Hospital, Parkland and the N17 Hospital,” he adds.

The Havenga’s last stop of the day was at Potters Haven where 14 happy children received their chocolate Easter bunnies and eggs.

Marlene Minnie, founder of Potters Haven watched how the children enjoyed the chocolates.

“Their faces are totally covered in chocolates, but I do not mind as they are having fun,” she says.

She claims the chocolates will cause a sugar rush, but at least they can jump on the trampoline to get rid of that.
