A Mercedes Benz was hijacked on its owner’s premises on Friday.
While still in her car at 8.20pm, a woman noticed three men sitting in a white vehicle in front of her gate.
Two of the men approached the woman. They were armed.
They ordered her to get out of her vehicle, took her jewellery and handbag and drove of in both vehicles.
According to Spring police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, they are looking for these hijackers who operate in the Springs area.
Ramphora says two of the men are armed with guns and the other one with a rifle.
An armed robbery case was opened by the Springs police on Friday.
The incident took place at 11.40pm in Vischkuil when a man and his friends in a white Colt bakkie noticed a car following them.
According to Ramphora, the driver stopped his car as he thought it was a police vehicle flashing its lights.
Two armed men approached the bakkie and demanded money and cell phones from the passengers.
Ramphora says they poured five litres of petrol over the vehicle with everyone still inside, but did not set it alight.
The drove off in a white BMW.
Two brothers were driving in Nigel Road when they picked up someone on their way to the CBD.
At 2pm, on Saturday the driver of the car dropped off his brother at Springs Station Taxi Rank and gave him money.
Ramphora says the passenger asked to be dropped off in Main Reef Road.
The man pointed a gun at the driver and he demanded money from him.
He walked away with cash.
Springs police say they opened two cases of business robbery in Springs Extension.
According to Ramphora a man and his brother were inside their shop on Saturday, when five heavily armed men entered.
“Three of them went behind the counter and searched both victims,” he says.
They took money from the till and left in a black car.
Another shop in Vischkuil was robbed at 7.30am.
Two brothers were inside the shop when three men entered.
One pretended to buy airtime while the other two went to the shelves.
Ramphora says the one at the counter grabbed one man by his throat while pointing a gun at him.
Both victims were told to lie down on the floor, while the other two robbers were helping themselves to what they wanted.
A shot was fired, but no-one was injured.
They took off with bread, cell phones and cash.
