The complex lights and streetlights at Molendam in Wit Road, Casseldale, were out of order for a week.
Resident Leona Bisello reported the situation to the metro twice and received two reference numbers, but yet nothing was done.
One night, a resident saw a man jumping the fence.
The intruder allegedly fiddled with a resident’s car, when his attempt was interrupted by a knock on the window by the owner of the car.
Bisello says the metro should react immediately when the senior citizens report incidents.
“Nothing was stolen this time, but it could have been a bad scenario.”
Almost a week later the lights in the complex were fixed and the residents feel safe again.
At the time of going to press, no comment was received from the metro.
