The Ekurhuleni Kiddies’ Games 2014 have come and gone. However, fond memories of the fun and games remain.
The games were recently held at the Reiger Park Stadium in Boksburg where five- and six-year-old children from all corners of the city competed in various disciplines.
The children’s physical strength was tested at popular games such as ball dribbling, cycling, ball hopping, ring throwing as well as ball kicking.
Jumping castles, colouring-in books, banner parades as well as dancing with Mrs Drop, the city’s Blue Drop mascot, and clowns, were additions to the fun activities this year.
The competition recently commenced at area games level and culminated with city-wide games, where three regional teams competed for the overall winning position.
The games are aimed at introducing preschool children to the basics of sport before they go on to primary school.
