A three-and-a-half-year old boy drowned on Friday at a house in Pollak Park.
Capt Johannes Rampora, spokesman for the Springs SAPS says the boy landed in the pool after he and some of his friends climbed over the fence at a neighbour’s house.
The boys kicked their ball into the yard and wanted to get it.
The boy who drowned apparently fell into the pool when he tried to retrieve the ball.
His friends, according to Ramphora, ran away and told no-one of the boy in the swimming pool.
Only when the home-owner came home at 5:45pm, did he found the child in the pool.
The child was already dead.
