Morning of Hope on Women’s Day

On Women's Day, a Morning of Hope was held, bringing warmth to the cold day.

Morning of Hope creates awareness to all the needs of children they work with on a daily basis.

The objective of the day was to raise funds, of which part of the proceeds went towards Springs Child Welfare Society and Leratong House of Hope.

The morning was cold with a biting wind, but once a step was taken inside the beautifully decorated venue, all longing for a warm bed disappeared.

Gospel singer Wian Vos performed a few songs.

The event was put together by Mariette Croukamp who is a Mrs United Nations South Africa Ambassador finalist.

Her role was to create awareness of the dire need for donations for the children these women work with.

Sanet van Moerkerken, organiser of the Springs and KwaThema Child Welfare Society, works with hundreds of disadvantaged children and is in desperate need for funding of any kind.

Lucky draw prizes were given away to the few lucky women who were seated at a place with a blue ribbon hidden beneath their plates.

Some of the prizes included a free photo shoot and laser therapy which were donated by various companies for the cause.

Leratong Place of Love Crisis Centre and the Springs and KwaThema Child Welfare Society each received R1 825 of the money that was raised at the event.
