Rubbish is piling up in Fourth Street

The last time the rubbish was removed was on October 27.

A huge heap of rubbish in Fourth Street, Central Business District, is hampering the company doing business opposite it.

Dee Boyce, working at a company which supplies equipment to people who prepare food, says the heap of rubbish accumulated opposite the business is not only stinking, but is also an embarrassment to them.

The last time the rubbish was removed was on October 27 and Boyce’s continuous requests to Ekurhuleni to remove it have not brought any action.

She says the filth is coming from the businesses people in the vicinity who dump garbage on the pavement opposite the business where she works.

Included in the mess are babies’ dirty nappies, old cuts of hair and rubbish from the close-by taverns.

What makes it worse is that the dogs, birds and rats have ripped open all the bags leaving the mess strewn on the street.
