Motorcyclist dies on Nigel Road

A man died this morning after his motorcycle and a taxi collided.

A 52-year-old motor cyclist died this morning in an accident in Selcourt.

According to a witness at the scene, the taxi driver went through a robot on the corner of Nigel Road and Rhokana Avenue, when the driver of the motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction, wanted to turn right.
The driver of the taxi says the robot was green for him and the motorcyclist was required to wait for him to pass before he turned right.
“I applied the brakes about 5m away from him and I blew the horn to warn him,” he says.
The motorcyclist died on impact.
There were no passengers in the taxi and the driver was unharmed.
