Children’s court gets a facelift

The room where raped and abused children are counselled at Springs court has been painted to make it more child-friendly.

This is part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children where the Wild Wild Guardians, Little Wild Wild Guardians, Mad Rage Against Child Abuse and the police are reaching out to the community.

This room is the office of the state prosecutor, Leanie Hattingh, who is working with the cases concerning abused children.

The refurbishing of this room started on Friday with the sanding off of the old wooden furniture and painting it green.

They also helped the adults to paint the room yellow.

In the meantime, Siyabonga Thanjekwayo also started with the rough sketches of the paintings he will be doing for the next week on the walls inside and outside of this room.

He says he thinks it will take about a week to complete the work.
