Ex-Springsite releases poetry book
Former Springsite, Lucille Swart (44) has released a motivational and inspirational anthology of poems.
Lucille lived in Springs for most of her life and this is also the place where she started her passion for writing poetry.
Her anthology, ‘Free Spirit’, was released late last year after only three months of putting it together.
“There are both Afrikaans and English poems in the book and they can be read by both young and old,” she says.
There are 50 Afrikaans poems and 17 English and ranges from olden times until current, new poems.
“It’s always been my way of dealing with emotions and all these poems range in a variety of emotions such as hurt, love and inspiration.”
She says what inspired her a lot was the people who crossed her path in life and all the different struggles she had to go through that lead her to where she is now.
Lucille is also busy writing her biography which centres on her life story.
“I feel I can now share my past with people as I think they can learn a lot from my experiences in life,” she says.
The book is called ‘Breaking the Silence’ which is, in a way, aimed at women who are abused in whichever way and who never speak up.
“People need to start standing up, there are people who are prepared to help everywhere if you only speak up.”
