Consistency in load shedding

Load shedding not the reason for power failure.

With the recent load shedding in the Selcourt area, I think it is just plain stupidity to blackout a complete area at that time of night.

Most of the people of Selcourt go to sleep at that time and all the criminals start doing there rounds.

For me the safety of my family comes first.

There was so much activity going on in Selcourt in total darkness, flashlights in and out all the yards around me that the dogs were going crazy.

These days Selcourt is not one of the most crime free areas any more.

The power went off at 11.10pm and at 8.15am the next morning it was still off.

Not to mention the poor workmanship of the electrical team going around fixing the lamp posts in Coaton Avenue.

I have been struggling for more than five years to sort out the problem about the lamppost in front of my house.

The truck stops at the post, goes up in the basket and after two to three minutes it leaves again.

Do they really know what they are doing as this has happened for over five years and the light is still not working.

The load shedding has consistently been suspended around 10pm, therefore the metro never implemented load shedding from 11pm this year.

The power failure in the area was due to a network fault and power was restored after repairs.

Load shedding only get implemented when declared by Eskom and will be broadcast in the media and on the metro website with expected duration for example noon to 10pm.

Consumers are encouraged to report any power failure they experience outside their time slot when load shedding is declared to the call centre on 086 054 3000.
