Craig is the owner of a new car

Craig Westoby never imagined he would win anything

He was overwhelmed when he carried off the Mitsubishi Mirage, at Meat World, on Saturday.

Spectators, music lovers, shoppers and 100 entrants to the car competition gathered for the big draw.

CEO of Meat World Angelino Pereira says there were a lot of entries and they decided to phone 100 people to attend the lucky draw.

The names of 10 people were drawn and they were called to the stage, where each was given a small box.

Afrikaans singing sensation Dewald Wasserfall asked them to open the box one by one.

Nine of the boxes contained a Mitsubishi key ring, while the 10th held the big prize.

Craig says it was a nervous experience and when only he and one other contestant were left, he noticed that his chances were getting better.

Much to his surprise, he opened the box and found the winning sticker attached to the key ring.

Angelino congratulated him after handing over the car keys.

The crowd was entertained by Dewald, Adam Tas, Lizelle and The Reckoning.

Dewald was accompanied on stage by Danny Smoke, a former Springs resident, who played the guitar and sang.

People enjoyed the potjiekos and braai competition and pro wrestling that took place between 10am and noon, while children were also entertained, with face-painting, balloon twisting and mechanical bull rides.
