Big rugby games played in Springs this weekend

The community are urged to support this huge event to be hosted in Springs.

The Springs Rugby Club will host the Cell C Community Cup for the first time, on Saturday, at Olympia Park Sports ground.

The first team will prepare themselves for a game against the Don’s Pawnshop Port Elizabeth Police, at 4pm.

The games being played before the main match are:

1.15pm – A field: Springs third team will play against Potchefstroom University second team

2.45pm – B field: Springs u-21 play against Potchefstroom University.

2.45pm – A field: Springs second team play against Potchefstroom University.

2.45pm – B field: Springs u-20 play against the Boksburg u-21 team.

The home team played and lost their game against Durbanville Belville Rugby Club on Saturday, February 28.

On March 14 they will play away against Impala Rustenburg, the 2014 community cup winners.

On May 21 they will play their last game at home, against the Old Selbournians.

Chairman of the Springs Rugby Club, Rudolph Cronje, said the top two teams from each of the four pools will be playing in the finals in Rustenburg.

The finals will take place between April 1 and 6.

It is a big rugby event and the Springs community are invited to support the the first team on Saturday.
