Siyaphila assist residents
The mobile HIV/AIDS counselling and testing facility, Siyaphila, was stationed at the Daggafontein Informal Settlement for two days.
Eight Siyaphila workers assisted residents from the Daggafontein Informal Settlement with private HIV/AIDS testing and counselling and tested residents’ blood pressure and sugar levels.
After her tests, Daphne Moela, a Section D resident, was happy to hear that she is still healthy and said she appreciates the service the residents receive right on their doorstep.
One of the caregivers Donald Mahloko, says they see between 100 and 120 persons daily and always inform the residents when the mobile testing facility will return.
The Siyaphila caregivers will be back in three months time.
