Nigel Road horror – woman (30) forced off the road and stabbed

A 30-year-old Dunnottar woman was stabbed several times in a botched robbery attempt in Selection Park on Tuesday.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the woman was driving along Nigel Road at 7pm, when the would-be robbers, who were travelling in two vehicles, forced her off the road.

As she stopped on the roadside, several men approached the woman’s vehicle and demanded cash.

Ramphora says when the woman informed them she didn’t have any money, the men stabbed her with knives.

The men then returned to their vehicles and fled the scene.

The woman was able to drive home, and was later taken to hospital by ambulance.

According to Ramphora, the woman was discharged from hospital on Wednesday but is still very traumatised.

A case of attempted murder was opened at the police station and the police investigation continues.
