Foundation donates to homeless

As a way of giving back, the Tshepo Mmolawa Foundation hosted an event to feed about 50 homeless people in Springs.

The event took place at the Springs Taxi Rank (Top Centre) and the team says it was pleased with the turn out.

“We had about 50 homeless people and prostitutes who we interacted with, motivated and served lunch to.

“We are hoping to come again and cater for 100 or more since people always come in numbers,” says founder of the organisation, Tshepo Mmolawa (24).

Mmolawa adds that their next event will take place in Geduld on Sunday, where they will feed the people and also participate in some sports.

“In order for some of these young people to fight harder to give up nyaope, it means that they need our support as the community.

“This is our way of doing our part, as an organisation, hence we planned to visit these people at least twice a month.

“All we are hoping for, is just for those who are in need to be encouraged because we ourselves know what it is like to be in need,” he adds.

Mmolawa thanks the police and all the friends who have helped them to make this initiative a success.
