Two suspects drove off in a Volvo S40 after pointing a firearm at a vehicle owner last Tuesday.
The man parked his vehicle in Sangro Street, Pollak Park, to collect tools, but left it idling.
SAPS spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the passenger also got out of the vehicle and left the door open.
He was on the phone when he allegedly heard the sound of a firearm being cocked.
The passenger claims when he turned around he faced the barrel of a gun.
“The armed suspect ordered the passenger to run away, but he allegedly couldn’t move,” says Ramphora.
The passenger saw another suspect getting into the driver’s seat of the Volvo followed by the armed suspect who got into the passenger side of the vehicle.
Ramphora says the suspects drove off.
SAPS are investigating a case of hijacking.
