Double use for stone during house robbery

A woman (67) sustained an open wound after the suspect's assault.

Three suspects gained entry to a house in Hampton Street, Selcourt, by breaking a glass door.

The incident took place at 3am on Tuesday.

A 67-year-old woman woke up to a noise and upon investigation found three men inside her house.

SAPS spokersperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the suspects used a stone to break the glass door.

The woman tried to call security guards, but the suspects assaulted her with the same stone they had used to break the glass door.

“She sustained an open wound to her left cheek,” says Ramphora.

The suspects fled the scene on foot.

A cellphone is the only item the woman could see missing at the time of the robbery.

SAPS are investigating a case of house robbery.
