Police warning: Parents targeted at Springs school

Police urge parents to be vigilant while waiting for their children at school.

Springs police are looking for three suspects who target parents waiting to pick up their children outside Dr Johan Jurgens High School.

“The community must be vigilant while waiting for their children,” says Capt. Johannes Ramphora, SAPS spokesperson.

Several cases of common robbery were reported at the police station over the past week.

“The suspects also target children after school,” he says.

Valuables including cash, cellphones, handbags and school bags are taken.

The trio allegedly wanders around outside the school property where parents are waiting to pick up their children.

“Parents and children should be vigilant as these culprits strike when least expected,” says Ramphora.
