An 18-year-old woman was raped and her friend was assaulted at 1.30am in their house in Kentan Road, Selcourt enclosure on Sunday.
Capt Johannes Ramphora, SAPS spokesperson, says the woman was asleep when someone hit her on her head.
The woman claims she was hit on her head, back and shoulders with a big knife.
She allegedly noticed one of the suspects were armed.
Ramphora says the suspect took the woman to another bedroom, while the other suspects brought her two friends to the same bedroom.
The three victims were tied up and was forced to lie on the floor.
“The suspects asked for the safe keys and continuously assaulted one of her friends,” says Ramphora.
She was taken to a bedroom where her brother was sleeping and begged the suspects not to her her brother.
Both the woman and her brother were taken back to where her friends were.
Ramphora says one of the suspects took the woman to another room where she was allegedly raped by the three suspects.
“The suspects closed the woman’s face with a pillowcase,” he says.
After the alleged rape, they fled the scene in her Toyota which was recovered in Langaville Extension Five on the same day.
Upon further investigation it was found the suspects broke two security bars away from a window and the two gate locks were cut off.
They then cut a hole in the security door at the staircase to gain access to the bedrooms.
“The suspects took three rings, four cellphones, a TV, handbag and one laptop with them,” says Ramphora.
