Good Samaritan brings cheer to children

Children were treated to a Christmas breakfast at a restaurant at Springsgate Shopping Centre on Saturday morning.

For the fifth year running, Sanet Joubert and other parents treated 19 children to food, Christmas gifts, cupcakes and an ice cream cake.

“I want to thank every single person who helped us with making today possible and to the community for all the help and support they give us,” says Sanet Joubert.

One of the children also celebrated her birthday on Saturday and was able to enjoy her special day with the other children.

The restaurant laid on the ice cream cake as well as lucky packets for all the children.

Sanet says the event is the highlight of her year, although she cherishes every event she is part of.

“This is the first Christmas event and the others will soon follow.”

The good Samaritan is passionate about helping underprivileged people; being able to give them something to smile about makes her hardships worthwhile, she says.

“Everyone deserves to be treated and given the knowledge that there are people who care for them.”
