Two customers were fighting over R2 inside the tavern for a snooker game.
Capt Johannes Ramphora says the deceased tried to separate the men who were fighting.
“One of the men went outside and returned carrying a knife and stabbed another person, but the deceased intervened and tried to stop the suspect.
“The suspect stabbed the deceased accidentally near his collarbone and the deceased fell to the floor.”

The owner of the tavern called the police and ambulance and the man was certified dead on the scene.
The suspect ran away.
A case of murder was opened at the Springs Police Station for further investigation.
