Residents in Strubenvale are upset with the Ekurhuleni Metro for neglecting its land on McComb Road.
The land, which used to be tennis courts is now an overgrown bush that is filled with rubbish and is bring rats into the area.

Residents allege that the metro has not cut the grass or rubbish on the land.
“The land has been like this for a year.
“People are dumping their rubbish here illegally, and it’s not safe.
“It just looks very bad for our community and everyone can see it as it is right by the road,” says concerned resident Miqnet Appelcryn.

Appelcryn says the residents are at their wits end and want the metro either to clean up the area, develop it or sell it if they have no use for it.
The metro failed to respond in time for publication.
