Residents say the metro came around at 8pm to collect their rubbish.
Residents in Welgedacht are upset after the metro came to collect their rubbish in the evening.
Madelein Botha says, “How is this possible that now at 8pm, the trash lorry is picking up black bags ?
“This is seriously not on.
“Our wheelie bins are taken in after 5pm, otherwise they will be stolen.
“This can’t work like this and I can’t run with the bins so late at night to try and catch the lorry.”

Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe says, “There are currently back-logs on door-to-door refuse collection services in the Springs and Kwa-Thema areas and in the process of trying to address it, Waste Management has to work after normal working hours.”
Gadebe says the back-log is caused by resource constraints.
