Burst pipe the reason for delay of library opening

“The estimated opening date now is October 8,” says Gadebe.

Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe says a burst water pipe is the cause of the delay of the Springs Library opening.

The burst pipe was discovered while they were installing new air-conditioning units and the metro is in the process of replacing the pipe.

“It is important to note that the library is old and its infrastructure is ageing, which required regular repairs.

“However, in the next financial year, we have secured a Capex budget for a major refurbishment.

“The estimated opening date now is October 8,” says Gadebe.
