In September 2016, gogo Gxulo from Tsakane went to withdraw money from an ABSA bank in Springs.
She withdrew a total of R20 100.Unknown to her, she was then followed by suspects who had been made aware that she had this amount of cash on her.
The suspects then took her into a car and offered her possibly spiked juice and robbed her of the money.
They later dropped her off at Endicott in Ermelo Road.
A case was opened with the police.
Eventually three suspects were apprehended and successfully prosecuted at the Springs Magistrates Court.
Obakeng Letsoalo, Johaness Khethane Makena and Samson Nkosana Mathebula were found guilty of robbery (15 years imprisonment each), attempted murder (15 years imprisonment each) and kidnapping (10 years imprisonment each).
