Springs Country Club junior golfers take part in EGU Junior Tournament
This weekend was ERCIL, which took place at Pollak Park Golf Club, but the wet weather caused a lot of players to stay home instead.
Enrico Greef and Leon Jacobs, junior golfers from the Springs Country Club, took part in the EGU Junior Tournament at Reading Golf Course last weekend.
Enrico won the Best Nett prize for u-13 golfers on a score of 74 nett.
Leon was awarded the runner-up prize in the B-division with a score of 72 nett.
This past Sunday, there was another tournament, this time held at State Mines and once again Leon claimed first place on a magnificent score of 68 nett.

Club captain Deon Kotze says, “We would like to congratulate them both for playing brilliantly and doing the Springs Country Club name so well.
“These juniors are the future of our club and we wish them all the best for the forthcoming tournaments.
“We will be keeping a close eye on them and we’re very proud of them,” says Kotze.
This weekend was ERCIL which took place at Pollak Park Golf Club but the wet weather caused of lot of players to stay home instead.
This past weekend also saw the first round of the Senior Hnadicap League played and SCC faced a very strong team from Ebotse Links.
Kotze says the team did very well and drew the match 3-3.
Next weekend (March 2-3) will see the Club Championships taking place and players are urged to sign up.
Next Saturday is also the first round of Handicap League.
