Youth Day celebrations at Far East Rand Clinic

“As a healthcare professional, I've got a great sense of fulfilment that I've done something right and I'm happy to be a part of this group,” says Sapie.

The Far East Rand Hospital celebrated Youth Day early with their Future Impact Rising Stars on Saturday morning.

The Future Impact Rising Stars is a youth mentorship programme at the hospital that supports teenagers with chronic illnesses.

“We realised there was a need for additional support for young people with chronic illnesses to help them adhere to and comply with their treatment plans.

“For us to succeed we had to include their parents as well and we have achieved fantastic results,” says Sammy Sapie, founder of the programme.
