A joint operation involving police, security companies and the local CPF led to the safe rescue of a woman who was hijacked outside her home in Selection Park.
A joint operation led to the rescue of a woman who was hijacked and kidnapped in Selection Park. Her vehicle was also recovered.
According to Dorette van Zyl from ProSafe Security, a woman was hijacked on August 26 in front of her home gate while inside her silver Toyota Yaris.
“The perpetrators forced the vehicle away with the victim still inside. Reaction units swiftly arrived on the scene, immediately establishing contact and a unified response alongside the SAPS, the local CPF, and multiple private security firms,” she said.
She added that a widespread search and rescue operation was launched across neighbouring sectors.
“Thanks to synchronised communication and rapid tactical manoeuvring, the victim was located unharmed in Wright Park and safely escorted back home to her family,” Van Zyl said.

Following the rescue, responders pursued positive leads regarding the stolen vehicle.
“The vehicle was tracked down and recovered where it had been abandoned in Kwa-Thema. The ground units directly involved in the vehicle recovery included T&N Security, Vampire Security, Last Battalion, and Springs SAPS,” she said.
Van Zyl attributed the successful operation to the joint effort of public and private safety sectors.
“The extensive search, rescue, and containment operation relied on the unified dedication of all key role players, including Blue Hawk Tactical, Beast Tactical, Prosafe Security, the EMPD, Springs SAPS, OosRand 911 Network, and Selpark CPF,” Van Zyl said.
