Selcourt to have new LCD lights

A resident in Selcourt, Bill Wilson, was happy when he called the Addie saying he’s got a feel-good story to tell.

New streetlights are being installed in Selcourt.

The metro started installing the lights in May, and according to ward 76 CLR Shadow Shabangu the project should be finished by end of June.

Shabangu says: “The LCD lights are going to last longer than the normal lights.

“The metro decided to start in my ward and the fortunate area was Selcourt.

“This is a pilot project as we would like to check the residents’ reaction.”

A resident in Selcourt, Bill Wilson, was happy when he called the Addie saying he’s got a feel-good story to tell.

“I thought maybe I should tell you that the metro is putting in new lights.

“As people we are always complaining so I thought I should inform the paper that the metro has done something good for us as the community.”

However, a few days later, Wilson said the lights are not working yet.

Shabangu says he’s been checking the lights and they’ve been working in some streets. He will, however, follow up the matter of the streetlights which are not yet working.

Despite multiple attempts, the metro failed to comment at the time of going to print.
