Vigil held at Springs Girls High

Springs Girls High School learners and staff stand in solidarity against gender based violence

Learners and staff stood in solidarity at Springs Girls High on Monday afternoon in a vigil held for women who have been victims of sexual abuse.

The vigil comes after a week that saw horrific crimes against women and addressed the ongoing issue of horrible gender-based violence plaguing the country.

Some students stood in front of the school reciting poems, singing songs and saying prayers to the fellow learners.

This was followed by a two-minute silence for victims of gender-based violence.
