A tavern on Main Avenue has a lot more empty shelves after suspects made away with liquor worth R3 000 during a robbery on Sunday evening, says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.
The complainant was behind the counter when two suspects entered the premises and bought beer.
A third suspect walked in and joined the two men.

The third suspect suddenly asked the complainant to turn the volume of the jukebox down and then reached over and switched it off himself and pulled out his firearm.
He then demanded money from the complainant and after it was handed over, asked the other suspect to check if all the money was handed over.

In addition to the liquor and money, the suspects also took two cellphones worth R400.
No shots were fired during the robbery and no arrests have been made.
