Festive celebrations at The Potters Haven
The Potters Haven owner Marleen Minnie was overwhelmed with gratitude for what the association had done.
The Wayoe Workers’ Wives Association threw a fun day for the children at The Potters Haven on Saturday afternoon.
The association is made up of spouses of the employees who work at Wayoe Engineering and Construction Limited (WEC), which has a branch in South Africa.
It was after an invitation to Semmie Naidoo alongside her branch manager to the company’s head office in Ghana that the fun day was made possible.

“We chose Potters Haven because I volunteer here, so this was familiar ground to me.
“They gave us $1 000 (approximately R14 720.20) to to plan the day and do whatever they needed.
“So we got a whole lot of boerewors, cool drinks, water, jumping castles, stationery, party packs, cereals, a pyjama for each child, toys, board games nappies, milk and wet wipes.
“It was all about making the kids’ day,” says Naidoo.
