Meet your neighbour at Indaba Park: Wright Park community gets together

Ward councillor Thulani Simelane also thanked the residents of Wright Park and Pollak Park for their help throughout the year.

The residents of Wright Park gathered at the Indaba Park on Sunday afternoon for the meet your neighbour event.

The purpose of the meeting was for the community to get to know one another and hear from Wright Park CPF chairperson Arles Baloyi.

Baloyi explained that it was important for everyone to know each other better and communicate regularly.

“This festive season, if you are going away, try to keep it quiet.

“Only tell a few people, like your neighbour, and don’t post pictures of yourself underneath a board that says 200km away from Durban.

Tumelo Maphosa with his mom, Refiloe, enjoyed their afternoon in the sun.

“You never know who is watching, and that will only serve as confirmation that your house is empty,” says Baloyi.

“You have supported the ward committee and I so generously.

“If there was a shack fire, you have been the first to respond and donate,” says Simelane.

The afternoon ended with a communal braai at the park, which the young and old enjoyed greatly.

Tshiamo Majola, Zanethemba Nene, Zenande Makhulukhulu, Natasha Banda, Kagiso Makofane, made use of the park’s facilities while they waited for their meat to cook.
