Springs extension dumpsite still a problem

Resident Eugene Chongo says: “I am very disappointed with the metro on this issue.”

For the past two years, the subway in Springs extension has been flooded and turned into a dumping site.

Some progress has been made in removing the water, but overall residents are still dissatisfied with the metro’s lack of action.

Resident Eugene Chongo says the dumping site near the subway causes a terrible smell.

The issue was reported in November 2019 and very little progress has been made since, despite numerous complaints by residents.

While some progress has been made in the subway itself, the dumping sites near the subway have not been cleaned and still produce a terrible stench.

Resident Eugene Chongo says: “I am very disappointed with the metro on this issue.

“It’s a terrible site, I live right next to it and the smell is unbearable.

“I want the metro to take action here right now.”
