Gardening is Nic van der Walt’s greatest passion
His impressive garden also includes tomatoes, chili plant, potatoes and various others.
Nic van der Walt has turned his love of gardening into quite a spectacle on Ermelo Road.
Van der Walt planted sunflowers in his front yard in October last year, and many of them have grown to more than 2m tall.
These flowers surround his house, and are hard to miss when driving down Ermelo Road.

The avid gardener also plants corn in his backyard, and his crop has grown to stand more than 3m tall.
His impressive garden also includes tomatoes, chili plant, potatoes and various others fruit and vegetables.
Van der Walt is a pensioner and keeps himself busy with gardening and steel work.

“It’s very important to have hobbies.
“When you have so much free time you can’t spend it just sitting around doing nothing,” says van der Walt.
The pensioner says he is willing to donate a flower to any man wishing to impress a woman.
