However, the grass underneath the trees and around a substation has not been cut in months and is extremely high.

Ward councillor Shadow Shabangu says: “From the road, it seems like the grass is being cut, but when in the park it looks bad.

“This is dangerous for the community as thieves can hide in this grass.”

The grass surrounding a substation in Jack Ellis Park has not been cut in months.

As a result of the grass not being maintained, weeds have also sprung in the park.

The metro has failed to provide comment at time of publication.
